Tuolumne Meadows Camping Pictures - Page 1
August, 2006
Jessica and I just got back from vacation in one of my most favorite places on earth: Tuolumne Meadows in Yosemite National Park. We spent a week there, hiking through the wilderness, fishing in rivers and lakes, and hanging out with our friends, Andrew and Melanie.

Tuolumne-Meadows-8551 After we set up camp, we went down to the Tuolumne River, right at the edge of the campground. The big rock is called Lembert Dome. |
Tuolumne-Meadows-8556 Then we walked down the Tuolumne River, towards Soda Springs. Goofing off on the rocks. That's Cathedral Peak or Unicorn Peak in the background. I forget. |

Tuolumne-Meadows-8570 Whoops, had to cross the river. Cold! |
Tuolumne-Meadows-8577 Later that afternoon, we went up the river to this little place called "Puppy Dome", where we did a little fishing. |
Tuolumne-Meadows-8582 Caught a few little Brook Trout. |
Tuolumne-Meadows-8584 Another meadow with the Tuolumne River running through it. I think I'm going to move here. |
Tuolumne-Meadows-8600 Rushing river. |
Tuolumne-Meadows-8613 While we were waiting for Andrew and Melanie, we did a drive by of Tenaya Lake. It has a nice beach, but no fish. |
Tuolumne-Meadows-8617 None of our vacations are complete witout the obligatory Jeep shot. No off-road pics this time though. The National Park Service frowns upon that sort of thing. |
Tuolumne-Meadows-8618 The next day, we set out for "The Cascades" with Andrew and Melanie. |
Tuolumne-Meadows-8623 Here we are... nice, deep pools for fishing and swimming. |
Tuolumne-Meadows-8642 You might not believe it, but Jessica actually likes to fish. |
Tuolumne-Meadows-8643 ...except when the lure gets slimy. The yellow Panther Martin spinner is my lure of choice in Yosemite. |
Tuolumne-Meadows-8646 Andrew pulls a monster fish out of the Tuolumne River. |
Tuolumne-Meadows-8658 The glacier-carved granite makes for some interesting waterfalls. |
Tuolumne-Meadows-8666 And trees will grow anywhere they can, even in the cracks of granite. |

Tuolumne-Meadows-8709 Oh man, that's some cold water. |
